Before you start: hear it
Call +1 (516) 724-9773. It is Ordero answering for a demo pizzeria, around the clock. Order the way your customers do, change your mind halfway, ask for a half-and-half pizza, switch languages. That is the fastest way to know whether it fits your restaurant.
Step 1: Sign up at ordero.si/start
Press Get started and choose the Voice Agent. Sign-up has five short steps:
- Restaurant: your company and your restaurant’s address.
- Account: the person signing, and how you will sign in later.
- Plan: Counter, Kitchen or Rush, monthly or annual. See Ordero pricing.
- Agreement: read the Service Agreement and the Privacy & Location Notice to the end, tick the box and type your name. Signing online asks your browser to share your device’s location once, for the signature; if you would rather not, write to hello@ordero.si and the team arranges another way to sign.
- Your line: you get a placeholder number at once, which holds your place and does not ring yet, and your panel opens.
Your real line, a local US number in your area code, is switched on after the team reviews your sign-up, and Ordero emails you when it is live. That day is your Activation Date: nothing is charged before it, and until then either side can end the agreement by email at no cost.
Step 2: Add your menu
In your panel, upload your menu as a PDF, photos of the pages, Excel, Word, CSV or JSON. Ordero’s AI reads every item, size, topping and price, and you check it before it is saved. On Clover, bring the menu over from the Integrations page instead (see Ordero and Clover). When an item runs out, switch it off in the panel and the assistant stops offering it on the next call.
Step 3: Tell it about your restaurant
- Opening hours, so it tells callers when you open next instead of taking an order you cannot make.
- A staff number for callers who ask for a person. It must be a different line from the number you forward, so a passed call does not come back to the assistant.
- House facts: parking, allergens, catering, anything callers ask. Ordero answers from what you give it, and shows you the questions it could not answer.
Step 4: Forward your number
You keep the number on your menus, your boxes and your Google listing. Ask your phone provider to forward it to your Ordero line, either all the time or only when nobody picks up. A good way to start is the second: the phone rings in the shop first, and Ordero answers what your staff cannot reach.
Step 5: Watch the first orders come in
Every order, call and transcript lands in your Ordero panel when the call ends: items, extras, pickup or delivery, and the caller’s number. Automated systems can mishear, so look over orders as they come in, especially in the first days, and call the customer back when something looks wrong.
Add more when you are ready
- Your own ordering page: turn on the Online Order System in your panel, at ordero.si/yourname, for $50 a month.
- Answers from your sales: connect Clover to Ordero Connect for $19.99 a month.
- Your own app: ask about Ordero Mobile.
Questions and answers
Do I need a new phone number for Ordero?
No. You keep your number and forward it to your Ordero line, all the time or only when your staff cannot pick up.
Do I need a card to sign up?
No card is needed the day you sign up. Nothing is charged before your line goes live.
Can I cancel before my line goes live?
Yes. Before your Activation Date, either side can end the agreement by email at no cost.
What if my menu changes?
Change a price or switch an item off in your panel at any time, upload a new menu, or bring it over from Clover again. The assistant uses the new menu on the next call.
Can my callers still reach a person?
Yes. When a caller asks for a person, Ordero passes the call to the staff number you set.
