Clover sales reports for New York City restaurants, in plain English

From a slice shop in Astoria to a bistro in the West Village, your Clover already knows how the week went. Here is how to just ask it.

Why NYC restaurants need answers, not more reports

The National Restaurant Association counts 50,533 restaurant locations in the state, 856,700 restaurant and foodservice jobs and $98.4 billion in restaurant and foodservice sales (2025 data), and ranks restaurants as New York’s second-largest private employer.

In a city where rent, labor and delivery fees all move against you, the numbers in your point of sale are the cheapest advice you have. Clover records every order. The hard part is getting a straight answer out of it on a Tuesday afternoon, between the lunch rush and the dinner prep.

What is Ordero Connect?

Ordero Connect connects to your Clover point of sale, read only, and lets you ask about your sales in plain English (or Turkish). It adds up the figures from your own orders and answers with charts.

You type a question the way you would ask your accountant. Ordero reads the orders it needs from Clover, works out every figure itself, and the AI explains them and suggests what to do. The charts and figure cards come straight from your orders, and the AI is told to use only those figures and to say so when the data is not there.

Questions New York City owners ask first

  • “Analyze my sales for the last 7 days.” Sales, orders and average ticket against the week before, day by day.
  • “Which hours are my busiest, and when should I add a second cook?” Sales hour by hour, so you can match staff to the rush. With the minimum wage at $17.00 an hour in New York City in 2026, an hour of staff in the wrong place adds up.
  • “How much did we collect in tips and sales tax this month?” Tips and tax next to your sales, so you can check them against what you file. Restaurant food in New York City is taxed at 8.875%.
  • “Do I sell more on rainy days?” Connect looks up the weather at your ZIP code for every day it reads and sets sunny, cloudy, rainy and snowy days side by side.
  • “Which items sell the least, and what should I do with them?” Your slow movers, by sales and by quantity, with ideas to fix or drop them.

Use it around NYC Restaurant Week

NYC Restaurant Week runs every winter and summer, usually in January and February and in July and August, according to NYC Tourism + Conventions. If you take part, ask Connect to set the Restaurant Week weeks against the weeks before: sales, orders, average ticket and which dishes moved. You will know in a minute whether the prix fixe brought new business or just discounted your regulars.

How to connect your Clover

  1. Open [Ordero Connect](/connect) and sign in with your Ordero account, or create one in a few minutes.
  2. Try the sample data if you like: a made-up pizzeria with three months of orders, so you can ask anything before you connect.
  3. Make a read-only API token in your Clover web dashboard. Give it Read on Orders, Inventory and Merchant, plus Payments (for tips, tax and payment types) and Employees (for sales by staff). Paste it into Connect with your Merchant ID; Ordero checks it and connects.
  4. Start your subscription: $19.99 a month, paid through Stripe. The sample data stays free.
  5. Ask your first question. The first read of a month or more of orders takes the longest; after that, answers come back in seconds.

What it costs

Ordero Connect is $19.99 a month per restaurant, billed by Stripe, and you can cancel any time. You can try it free with sample data first, before you connect your own Clover. Nothing is ever written back to your Clover, and your orders are read when you ask, not stored in a database.

Questions and answers

Does Ordero Connect work with Clover in New York City?

Yes. It works with any Clover merchant in the United States (Clover’s North America region), including restaurants in all five boroughs. Days are counted in your restaurant’s own time zone.

Can Ordero Connect change anything in my Clover?

No. It reads only. It never changes prices, items, orders or settings, and you can disconnect it at any time.

How much can it read at once?

Each question can cover up to about three months of orders: today, a week, a month or a quarter. For periods of up to about six weeks it also compares the period before. Weather comparisons cover the last three months.

Can it work out my profit?

Only if your item costs are entered in Clover. Without costs it shows sales, orders and best sellers, and tells you plainly that margins need costs.

How much does it cost?

$19.99 a month per restaurant, billed by Stripe. Cancel any time. The sample data is free to try.
